Creative Curriculum

The curriculum at Growing Seeds is based on the philosophy that children learn through day-to-day experiences. Play is an important preparation step to learning highly abstract symbols such as letters and numbers. Our curriculum is based on Teaching Strategy’s “Creative Curriculum” which is aligned with the Connecticut Framework for Pre-School.

The staff at Growing Seeds Child Development Center believes that children are unique individuals and by building upon each child’s strengths and abilities, all children can be successful learners.

Our Focus

Emotionally

Our teachers act as guides in directing your child in a healthy expression of their emotions. We encourage your child in artistic projects such as drawing, painting and writing, with a strong emphasis on creative self-expression.

Socially

We plan structured social games and activities, which gives your child many opportunities for developing social skills. We encourage sharing and group playing. We assist in developing leadership skills in your child.

Physically

Large and small motor development skills are crucial to the development of your child. The teachers supervise playing routines that help to build muscle coordination and increased overall body tone.

Cognitively

We encourage creative thinking and different ways to solve learning challenges. Help children become confident learners by letting them try out their own ideas and experiences success. We help them acquire learning skills such as the ability to solve problems, ask questions, and use words to describe their ideas, observations and feelings.

Creative Expression

We help children develop an appreciation of the arts by using different art forms as a vehicle for creative expression. We encourage curiosity, experimentation, and expression. We engage in musical and creative movement activities.
